Yes. Supportd is completely free for participants, families and carers. There is no account required, no subscription and no hidden fees. We make money through provider subscriptions, not by charging participants. It will always be free.

Do I need an NDIS plan to use Supportd?

No. You can browse the directory and submit enquiries at any stage of your NDIS journey. Some people use Supportd while preparing for their first plan review. Others use it after their plan is approved to find providers quickly.

What is the difference between searching and getting matched?

Searching lets you browse the full directory yourself and enquire directly with providers you like. Getting matched means our team does the work for you, we contact providers, confirm they have capacity, and come back to you with real options. Both are free.

How long does matching take?

We aim to get back to you within 48 hours. In most cases it is faster. Our team personally reaches out to providers in your area, confirms availability and then sends you matched options.

What is an unregistered provider? Is that safe?

Unregistered means the provider has not gone through the NDIS Commission registration process, not that they are unsafe or unqualified. Many excellent support workers and smaller operators choose not to register because the process is costly and time consuming. They are available to self-managed and plan-managed participants. Supportd shows all verification badges including NDIS screening checks, police checks and first aid certifications on every profile.

What funding types does Supportd support?

Supportd covers all three NDIS funding types. Self-managed and plan-managed participants can access all provider types including unregistered providers and independent support workers. NDIA-managed participants can use Supportd to find registered providers. If you are not sure what funding type you have, our matching team can help you work it out.

What if I cannot find the right provider?

Submit a matching enquiry. Our team has access to providers who are not always visible in search results, including new providers who have just joined, providers who have temporarily paused their listing and independent workers in your area. We often find matches that participants could not find themselves.

Can I use Supportd if I am NDIA-managed?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can browse the full directory and contact registered providers directly. NDIA-managed funding only allows you to use NDIS registered providers, so we recommend filtering by registered status when you search.

Can a family member or coordinator use Supportd on my behalf?

Yes. Many families and support coordinators use Supportd to find providers for the participant they support. You can submit a matching enquiry on behalf of someone else, just include their suburb, support needs and any access considerations.

How do I know if a provider has capacity?

Accepted Answer

Provider profiles show their availability status (taking new participants or at capacity). Capacity changes quickly, so when you enquire we recommend asking the provider directly when they could realistically start. Our matching team always confirms capacity before sending matches.

What information do I need to provide when I enquire?

Just your contact details and a short description of what you are looking for. The more detail you can share about your situation, the better the provider can prepare for your first call. None of your information is shared with anyone outside the matched provider.

How do I leave a review for a provider?

After you engage with a provider you will receive a review request via email. You can also reach out to us at info@supportd.com.au if you would like to share your experience. We only publish verified reviews from participants who actually engaged with the provider.

Any NDIS provider operating in Australia. Registered organisations, unregistered providers, sole traders and independent support workers are all welcome. There are no restrictions on who can list.

How do I get listed?

Sign up at supportd.com.au, complete the 6 step onboarding flow (type, basics, services, areas, credentials, plan) and your profile goes live. Most providers complete onboarding in 15 to 20 minutes.

How quickly will I start receiving enquiries?

Most providers receive their first enquiry within a week of listing. Growth providers typically receive matched enquiries within 48 hours of their profile going live. Results depend on your area, service type and how complete your profile is.

How do matched enquiries work?

When a participant submits a matching request, our team reviews their needs and selects providers who match their service type, area, language and availability. We then contact those providers to confirm they have capacity before sending the participant their details. Growth providers are the only ones who receive these pre-qualified enquiries.

Can I pause my listing if I am at capacity?

Yes. You can toggle your availability status from your dashboard at any time. When you mark yourself as not taking new participants, your profile remains visible but participants cannot submit new enquiries.

Do I need to be NDIS registered to list?

No. Unregistered providers and independent support workers can list on Supportd. Your registration status is shown clearly on your profile so participants know which funding types they can use to engage you.

What does my profile include?

Your business name, logo, tagline, bio, services, suburbs covered, hours, contact details, ABN, certifications and any verification badges you select. You can update any of this from your dashboard at any time.

How do I edit my profile after publishing?

Log in to your dashboard at supportd.com.au/dashboard, go to the Profile section and update any field. Changes are saved immediately. You can also add or remove services, suburbs and credentials at any time.

Can I appear in multiple service categories?

Yes. You can list yourself in every service category that applies to your business. There is no limit on the number of service categories or suburbs you can cover.

Can I appear in multiple suburbs?

Yes. You can add as many service area suburbs as you cover. There is no per-suburb fee. Many providers list dozens of suburbs to cover their full service radius.

Do you verify provider credentials?

Verification badges are self declared. Providers tick the certifications they hold during onboarding. We do not currently sight or independently verify these credentials. Participants are encouraged to ask for proof if they want to see specific certificates.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, any time. You can cancel from your dashboard and your listing will remain active until the end of your current billing period. There are no cancellation fees and no questions asked.

What happens to my profile if I cancel?

Your profile is removed from the directory at the end of your billing period. Your account stays in our system so you can rejoin without rebuilding your profile if you change your mind later.

When do I start paying as a founding member?

You enter your card during onboarding so we can confirm your subscription, but no charge is made for the first 60 days. After 60 days, billing begins at your founding price.

Will my card be charged during the trial?

No. Stripe holds your card on file but does not charge anything for the first 60 days. If you cancel before day 60, you pay nothing and there is no obligation.

Can I change plans later?

Yes. You can move between Starter and Growth from your dashboard at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.

We do not refund partial months. If you cancel, your listing stays active until the end of your current billing period and the next charge does not happen.

Yes. All prices are in AUD and include GST where applicable. Stripe handles billing in your card's default currency if you are international.
