What is Access Decision?

In plain English

The NDIA decision about whether you are eligible to join the NDIS. If the answer is yes, you become a participant. If it is no, you can ask for a review.

An access decision is the formal yes or no from the NDIA on whether you can join the scheme. If it is a yes, the NDIA then works with you to build your first plan. If it is a no, the decision letter must explain why, and you have the right to ask for that decision to be reviewed. Many people are knocked back the first time and succeed on review once they provide stronger evidence from their treating professionals.
