What is Behaviour Support Plan?

In plain English

A plan written by a behaviour support practitioner that sets out strategies to improve quality of life and reduce behaviours of concern.

A behaviour support plan is built after assessing why a behaviour of concern happens and what need it is meeting. It focuses on positive, proactive strategies that improve the person’s quality of life, and it is required whenever a regulated restrictive practice is being used. The plan is developed with the person and the people around them, and it is reviewed as things change. Only registered NDIS behaviour support practitioners can write one.
