What is Local Area Coordinator (LAC)?
In plain English
A worker from an NDIA partner organisation who helps people understand the NDIS, apply to join, and put their plan into action. An LAC is a common first point of contact for participants.
A Local Area Coordinator works for an organisation partnered with the NDIA and is often the first person a participant deals with. An LAC can help you understand the NDIS, apply to join, build and use your plan, and connect with community and mainstream services. LACs generally support people aged 9 and over. They are a free, practical source of help at most stages of the journey.
