Commission portal or NDIA portal?
Providers deal with two separate agencies, each with its own portals. The NDIS Commission regulates providers, so its portal handles registration, incidents, behaviour support and worker screening. The NDIA runs plans and payments, so claims, service bookings and my provider relationships happen in the NDIA's provider portals, not the Commission's.
The new portal from 12 October 2026
The Commission launched a new NDIS Commission Portal on 12 October 2026. For a transition period you use two portals:
- New portal: new registration and re registration applications, notifications of changes and events, new reportable incidents including 24 hour and 5 day reports, new behaviour support plans, restrictive practice authorisation and monthly reporting for plans lodged from 12 October, new audits, and all worker screening tasks for registered providers
- Existing portal: finishing applications, incidents and audits started before 12 October, monthly reporting on behaviour support plans lodged before 12 October, and historical records
- Some historical records are not yet visible in the new portal and are due in a later release
How to log in
Both portals are reached through the NDIS Commission website. To sign in you need a myID, the Australian Government Digital ID app, with authorisation in Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM) if you are acting for a business, or a PRODA account. The Commission is moving providers to myID and RAM.
For an organisation, the principal authority first links the business in RAM using its ABN, then creates authorisations for staff, selecting the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission under agency access. Each staff member accepts the request within 7 days using the code emailed to them. If you are a sole trader you do both parts yourself: set up myID, link your business in RAM, then authorise your own myID.
Staff roles in the new portal
Staff with an active account in the existing portal were given an account in the new one, but roles do not map one to one. Check every user's roles. In the new portal your Registrant creates user records and your Access Delegate assigns roles. Make sure at least one active person holds each role you need:
- Registrant
- Access Delegate
- Worker Screening Officer
- Behaviour Support Lodgement Officer
- Restrictive Practice Reporting Officer
- Reportable Incidents Officer
Unregistered providers and participants
If you are not registered, the only thing you can do in the new portal is apply for registration. The unregistered provider portal remains for worker screening and verification only, and from 12 October 2026 new reportable incidents can only be lodged by registered providers.
Self managed and plan managed participants who check the NDIS worker screening database keep using the Self managed participants portal, and can log in with either PRODA or myID.
Common problems and fixes
- Error 401 after being authorised: clear your browsing history, then log in again
- Authorisation code expired: ask the principal authority or an authorisation administrator to reissue it
- Cannot set up myID: you can still use the continue with PRODA option
- Draft lost: drafts in the new portal are kept for up to 30 days, and draft registration applications and draft behaviour support plans left in the old portal on 12 October were removed
- Changes to users must be made in both portals, as accounts are managed separately
