What is Occupational Therapy (OT)?

In plain English

Therapy that helps you do the everyday activities that matter to you, from self care to work, often through skills, strategies and equipment.

Occupational therapists look at the practical tasks of daily life and find ways to make them possible, whether through building skills, changing how a task is done, or recommending assistive technology and home modifications. OTs also write the functional assessments the NDIA relies on. Many work as unregistered or independent providers, so self managed and plan managed participants have plenty of choice.
