What is Capital?

In plain English

A funding category for one-off purchases like equipment, vehicle modifications or home modifications. Capital funding is usually tied to specific items.

Capital funding covers one off, higher cost items rather than ongoing support. Think wheelchairs, assistive technology, home modifications and vehicle modifications. Because these items are specific, Capital funding is tied tightly to what was approved and usually cannot be spent on anything else. A quote, and often an assessment, are needed before the money is released.
