What is Unregistered Provider?

In plain English

A provider who has not gone through the NDIS Commission registration process. Available to plan-managed and self-managed participants. Many high quality providers and independent workers operate as unregistered.

An unregistered provider has not gone through the NDIS Commission registration process. This does not mean lower quality, as registration is largely a cost and paperwork decision, and many excellent providers and independent workers choose not to register. Self-managed and plan-managed participants can freely use unregistered providers. They often offer more flexibility and lower rates, which is why so many participants choose them.
