What is Nominee?
In plain English
A person legally authorised to make decisions on a participant behalf, such as a parent of a young person with disability or a court-appointed guardian.
A nominee is a person legally authorised to make certain decisions on a participant behalf. This is often a parent of a young person with disability, or a guardian appointed for an adult who needs that support. A nominee should still involve the participant as much as possible and act in their interests. Nominee arrangements are meant to be a support, not a replacement for the participant own voice.
