What is Disability Employment Services (DES)?
In plain English
A mainstream, government funded program that helps people with disability find and keep a job. It sits outside the NDIS.
DES is separate from the NDIS but often works alongside it. Providers help with job searching, preparing for interviews, and support once you are in a role. Because it is a mainstream service, it does not come out of your NDIS budget. Your NDIS plan can fund capacity building that complements DES, and a coordinator can help you connect the two.
