2026/27 limits for standard self care support
These are the national price limits per hour for Assistance with Self Care Activities, Standard, in the 2026/27 NDIS pricing schedule. Standard SIL hours use the same limits, and so do standard community access items for the time bands they cover.
- Weekday daytime: $73.58
- Weekday evening: $81.07
- Weekday night: $82.57
- Saturday: $103.54
- Sunday: $133.50
- Public holiday: $163.46
- Night time sleepover: $311.79 a night
How each time is defined
What counts is when the support is delivered to the participant, not the worker's shift under their award. For support workers:
- Weekday daytime: starts at or after 6am and ends by 8pm on a single weekday
- Weekday evening: starts at or after 8pm and finishes by midnight on a weekday
- Weekday night: runs past midnight, or starts before 6am and finishes that weekday
- Saturday, Sunday and public holiday: starts at or after midnight the night before and ends by midnight that day
- Sleepover: starts before midnight, finishes after midnight, lasts 8 hours or more, and the worker can sleep when not needed
Public holidays
Public holiday limits apply on New Year's Day, Australia Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, the King's Birthday holiday as observed where you live, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and any other day or part day declared a public holiday in the state or territory where the support is delivered. Check your state's list each year, because local holidays differ.
When a support crosses a boundary
If one worker delivers a support that crosses from one time band into another, such as 6pm to 10pm on a weekday, the higher limit can apply to the whole support. Providers should explain this to the participant and put it in the service agreement. If different workers cover different parts, each part is claimed at its own time band.
A sleepover includes up to 2 hours of active support during the night. If a worker gives more than 2 hours of active support, the extra hours can be claimed at Saturday rates on weekdays, or at the applicable rate on other days.
Remote and very remote areas
Time of day limits are higher again in remote and very remote areas. For weekday daytime self care, the 2026/27 limit is $103.01 an hour in remote areas and $110.37 in very remote areas. The location is where the support is delivered, based on the Modified Monash Model.
What does not have time of day rates
Therapy supports, such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy and psychology, have one price limit regardless of the time or day. Nursing supports have their own time bands, with weekday daytime ending at 6pm rather than 8pm. Higher intensity supports have their own items with higher limits for each time band.
Tips for participants and families
Weekend and evening hours use your funding much faster. Four hours on a Sunday costs about the same as seven hours on a weekday at the limit. If your budget is tight, ask whether some supports can move to weekday daytime, and check your service agreement lists the price for each time band. Plan managed and NDIA managed providers cannot charge above these limits. Self managed participants can agree different prices.
