Jeonsa is a small, family-run registered NDIS provider based in and proudly servicing the Hawkesbury, Greater Western Sydney and the Lower Blue Mountains. We are not a large company, and we do not want to be. We deliberately keep our service personal so we genuinely know the people we support, their families, routines, risks, goals and what matters to them. Management remains closely involved, and families can speak directly with people who actually know their loved one. You’ll get the personal relationship of a small provider, with the safeguards and accountability of a registered organisation behind you. Our workers are screened, trained and supported. If a regular worker is unavailable, there is a team behind them rather than leaving you without support. We support children and adults with autism, intellectual disability, neurological and cognitive conditions, behaviours of concern and more complex needs. Supports include personal care, daily living, community access, respite, medication assistance and behaviour support plan implementation, with nursing oversight available where required. Many of our participants need more than someone to simply fill a shift. They need familiar workers, careful observation and a provider that notices when something changes and follows it through. At Jeonsa, you are not a roster number. You are known, supported and cared for by a small team that takes responsibility for the quality of your support.

Hi there, my name is Ruby. I am a disability support worker with over five years of experience providing support in a range of settings, including day centres, community environments, and most extensively through one-on-one support in people’s homes. I have experience and confidence supporting people with disability, chronic illness, and mental health challenges, and I am affirming and experienced in supporting people from the LGBTIQ+ community. My approach is person-centred, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive, and grounded in respect, dignity, and choice. I am kind, patient, and non-judgemental, and I place strong importance on building trusting, collaborative support relationships. I work in inclusive and reflective ways, with an awareness of how ableism and other barriers can show up in support settings. I aim to provide support that respects autonomy, reduces power imbalances, and centres each person’s voice and preferences. I am committed to ongoing learning and growth in my practice. Alongside my professional experience, I also bring lived experience of illness and disability, which informs my empathy and approach to respectful support. I genuinely enjoy supporting people to live the lives they choose and aim to be someone they feel safe, comfortable, and respected working alongside. Outside of work, I enjoy the ocean, nature, games, and reading.

I’m a Youth Mentor & Disability Specialist based in Parramatta, NSW with over 15 years of experience supporting young people and adults through trauma-informed, person-centred support. I’m passionate about building trust, promoting independence and helping people create positive change in their lives.
Hi, I’m Stu — a support worker based in Penrith with a genuine passion for working with young people, kids, and participants on the autism spectrum. I’m a qualified electrician and ADF veteran — practical, reliable, and calm under pressure. I use hands-on activities like home maintenance, cooking, camping, and fishing to build real independence and confidence in the people I support. I have personal lived experience with ADHD and autism, which means I naturally connect with participants who find it hard to engage with others. I’m patient and consistent, and I meet people exactly where they’re at — no pressure, no agenda. I’m particularly good with young people who respond better to doing than talking — getting outdoors, working with their hands, or simply having someone in their corner who genuinely understands how their mind works. Currently completing a Certificate III in Individual Support. Credentials include NDIS Worker Screening Check, WWCC, First Aid & CPR, and professional insurance. Penrith, St Marys, and western Sydney — available now.

Finding support workers in Sydney
A support worker helps with the everyday things your disability makes harder: personal care, getting to appointments, shopping, cooking, community activities, or simply having someone reliable around. In Sydney you can choose between agencies with a team of workers and independent support workers who run their own small business.
With a city this size, the practical question is who will actually travel to you, and when. Many workers prefer to stay within one region, such as Western Sydney, the south west or the inner west, because travel time across the city eats into the hours. Use the suburb list on this page to find workers who already cover your area.
If you are self managed or plan managed, you can use registered, unregistered and independent workers. If your plan is agency managed, choose a registered provider. Either way, ask about worker screening, what happens when your regular worker is sick, and whether you can keep the same person each week.

What a support worker costs under the NDIS
Support workers are usually paid from your Core budget for help with daily life. For 2026/27 the standard weekday daytime price limit for self care support is $73.58 an hour in most of Australia, from 1 July 2026. Evenings, weekends, public holidays and remote areas have higher limits.
Price limits are a ceiling, not a set rate. If your plan is agency managed or plan managed, providers are paid within them. If you self manage, you are not strictly bound by them, but they are a useful benchmark when you compare quotes.
Two changes are worth knowing. From 1 October 2026, budgets for social, economic and community participation are reduced by 50% when a plan is created, reassessed or renewed, while help in your home is not affected. And the government is consulting on lower prices for some supports from unregistered providers from 1 January 2027.

Common questions
How much does an NDIS support worker cost in Sydney?
For 2026/27 the standard weekday daytime price limit for self care support is $73.58 an hour in most of Australia, including Sydney. Evenings, weekends and public holidays have higher limits. Providers can charge less than the limit, and if your plan is agency managed or plan managed they are paid within it.
Can I find an independent support worker in Sydney?
Yes. Independent support workers are sole traders who work directly with you, without an agency in the middle. Look for the independent label on the listings here. They suit self managed and plan managed participants who want the same person each time.
What should I ask a Sydney support worker before the first shift?
Ask which suburbs and days they can do, whether they hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Check, how they charge for travel, how much notice they need for cancellations, and who covers if they are unwell.
Will the October 2026 funding changes affect my support worker hours?
Possibly, for community activities. From 1 October 2026, budgets for social, economic and community participation are reduced by 50% when a plan is created, reassessed or renewed. Help at home, such as personal care and meals, is not affected. Your current plan keeps working until your next reassessment or renewal.
Does it cost anything to use Supportd?
No. Searching, contacting providers and the matching service are free for participants and families. Supportd takes no commission from your NDIS plan and never sells your details. It is funded by provider subscriptions.
